How many of you guys throw jigs down the Northeast? I just started throwing them the end of last year and caught some n ice fish on them. I am debating wether to use that as my primary flipping and pitching lure or use a soft plastic.

I use them from time to time. More times then not i am throwing a Texas rigged Senko or Paca Craw. I have had luck with all but i am not commited to one or another. I feel you will get more bites with the plastics and may stick with that until you get a limit and then upgrade to a jig looking for bigger bite, but then again there are alot of good fish in that grass......and i love throwing a frog ;D

Kev, you already know my opinion of jigs. I catch more numbers on texas rigged flipping plastics but caught much better size on jigs.
Sean, I never would have thought of throwing a frog in the grass on the River. I threw it in the grass on the Potomac and wow! I only got one in the boat on the frog but must have had ten blow ups on it. It seemed like they were hitting it not trying to eat it. I did better punching the thickest mats with a 1 1/2 oz. weight and plastic but I will throw a frog more often in the grass on the River.
